Police have launched a murder investigation after a woman in her 40s was found dead in house on a leafy Hampshire street.
The victim was found at the Station Road, Petersfield home just before 8pm yesterday. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but the woman’s family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 25-year-old woman, from Bordon, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Officers have launched an appeal for any potential witnesses who may have heard or seen anything in the early evening yesterday to come forward.

Investigators were spotted outside the home today as they conducting enquiries into the murder of the middle-aged woman.
Detective Chief Inspector Emma Crute, the Senior Investigating Officer, told MailOnline: ‘We would be interested to hear from any potential witnesses who might have seen or heard something on Station Road yesterday between the hours of 3pm and 8pm.
‘Any information could be useful, no matter how insignificant you may feel it is. Please call 101 with reference Op Cleome with any information, CCTV, or dash cam footage.’
Residents should expect an increased policing presence in the area as the probe is underway. Anyone with concerns is encouraged to contact police.
