On Thursday, two-time Grammy nominee Jimmy Buffett revealed he was hospitalized ‘to address some issues that needed immediate attention’ after undergoing a routine check-up in Boston on Tuesday.
‘Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you,’ the 76-year-old billionaire – who boasts 2.1M social media followers – tweeted of his unexpected health setback.
‘These few words from Mark Twain about life changes seemed perfect to pass on at this time. “Challenges,” he said. “Make life interesting, however overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.” I had a sudden change of plans this week that affected us all.’
The Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band were forced to cancel their Second Wind Tour stop scheduled for this Saturday at the Credit One Stadium in Charleston, SC.
‘When I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup,’ Buffett wrote in the statement on his website.

‘You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a toe headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, your amazing years of loyalty, and just remember, “NOT YET!” Love to all!’
The Margaritaville hitmaker – last pictured on April 18 – was also briefly hospitalized in September, when he was forced to cancel his five remaining concerts of 2022: ‘On doctor’s orders, he must take this time to recuperate and heal.’
Jimmy – whose parents died in their 80s – has reportedly been hard at work recording his 30th studio album titled Equal Strain on All Parts.
On the personal front, Buffett has three children – daughter Savannah, nearly 44; daughter Delaney, 31; and adopted son Cameron – from his 45-year marriage to second wife Jane Slagsvol.
The Mississippi-born musician is also famed for being an avid pilot, a prolific restaurateur, and a generous Democratic donor.
