LA police launch manhunt for gunman after three men and a woman are shot

Police have launched a manhunt in downtown Los Angeles after a gunman opened fire on four people near a luxury residential building.

Authorities were called to the building at 2am on Saturday morning to reports of a shooting at the property.

Officers are now hunting the gunman, who fled the scene of the crime, but a description has not yet been made available.

LAPD officers found three men and one woman suffering from gunshot wounds on the lobby floor.

Their conditions are not currently known, but police confirmed that they were taken to hospital and they were expected to survive.

Footage taken just after the incident shows one man lying on the building floor with a towel wrapped around his leg as another created a makeshift tourniquet.

Two men were stretchered out of the building and taken away by firefighters, but he appeared to be conscious.

Both men appeared to have been shot in the leg, though it is unclear if they suffered any further injuries.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and police believe that the shooting unfolded outside of the building before the victims made it to the room on the first floor.

Pictures show bullet casings on the floor in the street outside, and a suspect allegedly fled the scene in a white BMW SUV.

Investigators are looking into the incident and are hopeful that the suspect was caught on nearby security cameras.

Anyone with information on the shooting has been urged to contact the LAPD.
